DOCUMENTATION
Alain Ramie No. 284
"Picasso, Catalogue of the Edited Ceramic Works"
Partially glazed terre de faience charger, 1955, painted in black, white and blue.
Inscribed “Edition Picasso” and “Madoura” with the “Madoura Plein Feu”
and “Edition Picasso” pottery stamps, on the reverse.CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY
This work was authenticated by Alain Ramie´.
He issued and signed the Certificate of Authenticity which accompanies this work.
He is the only person who is authorized to issue Certificates of Authenticity for Picasso ceramics created and produced at Madoura Pottery. Alan Ramie´ is the owner of Madoura Pottery and the person who compiled the catalogue raisonne´ of the complete ceramic works produced by Pablo Picasso at Madoura Pottery from 1947 to 1971.
PLEASE NOTE
While the Alain Ramie´ certificate is important today, it will be infinitely more important in the future when prices may be substantially higher than they are today. As an example, Andy Warhol collectors who acquired Andy Warhol works which were not authenticated by the Andy Warhol Authentication Board are now finding that there is no market for their Warhols, unless they have been authenticated by the Andy Warhol Authentication Board.
This will not be a problem for anyone who owns a Picasso ceramic which is accompanied by an Alain Ramie certificate of authenticity.
